I'm so excited to share the bouquet from this bridal session! And even more excited to share the flowers from the wedding - once I've gone through all my pictures.

The colors for this wedding were coral, yellow, and teal, but the bride really likes a traditional look with the flowers, so we added white for her bouquet. Her wedding bouquet was actually all white, but she decided to add a pop of color for the bridal pictures.

She also loves lace, and was using lace in many elements for the wedding (including her gorgeous dress!) so we went with more textured, ruffly flowers - roses, stock, and cremons (similar to a spider mum, but a little softer look) for this bouquet.

And of course I wrapped up the stems with lace, and finished it off with some little pearls. So classic, but still fun with the bright summer colors.

The stock and roses smelled heavenly! I love the combination of bright colors with soft, traditional style. So lovely.

I seriously can't wait to share pictures from the wedding, and pictures from their wonderful photographer!

hot pink bridals

It was a lot of fun working on this bridal session. This was a bride who wanted to have fun with her flowers. Her wedding colors were white and turquoise, but she decided her bridal session pictures didn't need to match that, so she went with another color scheme she loved - hot pink!

So we did roses, spray roses, calla lilies, and gerbera daisies all in the brightest shades of pink we could find! It was such a fun pop of color for this winter shoot.

She also wanted a nice big bow and long trailing ribbon, so we used a beautiful sheer sparkly pink ribbon to finish off the bouquet.

The perfect blend of fun and beautiful!

white flowers and christmas greens

I thought I'd bring in some Christmas spirit by sharing some pictures from this wedding today.

I had the wonderful opportunity to work on this gorgeous wedding this weekend! Often December brides try to shy away from traditional Christmas and wintry looking wedding themes, but this bride embraced it, and I'm so glad! It was such a perfect fit for her lovely vintage ivory dress (it was her grandmother's) and the snow lingering from the last storm.

For the bride's  bouquet we used a mix of "Christmas" greens - mostly pine and cedar, with white roses, baby's breath, wax flower, and pine cones. And of course finished it off with sheer gold ribbon.

The groom's boutonniere was pine and cedar, with mini pine cones, and a touch of baby's breath and wax flower. So perfect for this elegant winter wedding.

Here's a close-up of the bouquet (for some reason the color is a bit off... but hopefully you get the idea! And hopefully I'll get some beautiful pictures from the photographer soon!)

I just love how it looks in the snow!

white bridal bouquet

December is going to be a busy wedding month for me! And to kick it off (well, a little before December...) I made a bouquet for a bridal portrait session for one of my December weddings.

We did a very classic all white bouquet with roses, lilies, freesia, and baby's breath.

This bride wants a very classic, simple, elegant look for her wedding, so we used lots of roses for her portrait bouquet, and will be using lots of roses (but in red!) for the wedding.

I'm excited to see pictures from the photographer (which will be so much better than mine!) and for the wedding coming up in a few weeks!

Today I had the pleasure of doing my first wedding since having my baby this summer.  It was the perfect wedding to transition back into this again, since the bride only needed one thing: her bouquet.  She was very much a no-nonsense bride, and wanted to keep everything super simple.  No wedding party, no extravagant reception, just the ceremony and dinner with family and friends.

And following her "keep it simple" mantra, her bouquet was simple but beautiful.  It was all lavender roses with a white ribbon wrap and pearls.  Simple, classic, elegant.

I took a quick shot in the flower beds outside the ceremony site waiting to deliver the bouquet.  Especially great since the flowers matched!

And a close up.  I love how intricately detailed roses are.  They have so much texture and depth that even with only roses, this bouquet has so much interest and beauty.

Sorry I've been kind of m.i.a. lately.  I took somewhat of a break this fall to work on some other projects I had going on.

Like starting an etsy shop!  Not at all related to flowers actually, but lots of fun.  It's mostly finger puppets and other things made out of felt right now, but I'm working on expanding to clothes and accessories for kids as well.

Here's one of my favorites - a Noah's Ark finger puppet set.

I decided to focus a bit more on this business through Christmas (lots of Christmas present orders!) but now I'm back and going to be spending more time on flowers again.  

And because I feel like I just can't post on here without some wedding flower inspiration for you.  These are photos from a wedding I did a while ago that the photographer sent me after I'd already done a blog post on this wedding, so I never posted them on here!  But they're gorgeous and I wanted to share.

plum and cream wedding

This beautiful wedding in San Diego, California was centered around a plum and cream color scheme.  So we went with cream roses, tulips, and ranunculus, with dark purple tulips, anemones, and African violets.  We stuck with just cream flowers and ribbon for the bridesmaid bouquet, so the purples wouldn't clash since her dress was purple.  The bride had a mix of cream and dark purple flowers.
