gorgeous bridal session

The pictures were taken at Thanksgiving Point - a gorgeous garden location that Utah brides should definitely consider for their pictures. 

Oh my goodness, I love a good garden photo shoot, especially with the beautiful evening sunlight.  Really, I love everything about these photos.  So beautiful!!

Oh my goodness this wedding turned into a nightmare!!  Not any fault of the bride and groom - they were wonderful to work with - just everything seemed to be going wrong.  From flowers dying inexplicably, to vases breaking, to construction traffic making it take four times as long as normal to get places, to my camera dying so I couldn't take any good pictures... oh, it was a long and stressful day!
I just hope the day went better for the bride and groom!!
But in spite of everything, I think the flowers still turned out beautifully.  I'll post the few pictures I got (some kind of gross because I took them on my phone - my camera died, remember?) And hopefully soon I'll get some pictures from the photographer that will be infinitely better than these.  But it should give you a little taste of this wedding.

The flowers for the top of the cake - I didn't get a picture of them on the cake because it wasn't ready to assemble when I left.  I really really hope I get a good cake picture from the photographer!!

Definitely not the greatest picture, but you can see more of the finished result - half the tables had the hydrangea centerpieces, the other half had short round vases with green roses, and curly willow down inside the vase.

blue hydrangea bouquet

This was the bouquet for a bridal photo session this past week.  The wedding is coming up in about a month.  I love the simple but elegant color palette of blue, white, and silver.

We went with a blue hydrangea bouquet for the photo session, with a little silver and pearl brooch.

Not the greatest angle of the bouquet, but I love the blue hydrangea against the blue sky 

 

For the wedding, we're going with a more multi-texture design - so look forward to pictures of that in about a month!

Here is a sneak peek at the cream and spring green wedding coming up this week.  This bouquet and boutonniere are from the couple's "groomal session" last week.

I'm excited for their wedding this week!  Hopefully the weather will be good, since their planned outdoor photo session got snowed out last week!  But it's looking like spring weather this week, finally!

website changes and some wedding inspiration

I'm working on a website redesign right now... The design I have right now has been kind of a place-holder while I work on really making it look the way I want it to.  So hopefully in the next few weeks, the new site will be up and running!  I'm excited for a new look - it's clean and elegant and fits our company so much better.

I'm also working on designs for the spring weddings I have coming up soon - so enjoy a little wedding floral inspiration from one of my spring weddings.

The color palette for this wedding is apple green and cream.  We're going with lots of green roses (which I love!) cream roses, hypericum berries, green hydrangea, and some creamy peonies.

plum and cream wedding

This beautiful wedding in San Diego, California was centered around a plum and cream color scheme.  So we went with cream roses, tulips, and ranunculus, with dark purple tulips, anemones, and African violets.  We stuck with just cream flowers and ribbon for the bridesmaid bouquet, so the purples wouldn't clash since her dress was purple.  The bride had a mix of cream and dark purple flowers.

silk flower centerpiece in burgundy, green, and cream

I love interior design - in fact, I briefly contemplated becoming an interior designer, but decided to just keep it as a hobby - so I was delighted when a neighbor asked if I would design something for her home.  She already had the container and many of the flowers, but didn't really know where to go from there.  She wanted something really full and Victorian looking to match the furniture and decor she already has.

A close-up of the flowers - look pretty good for silks, don't you think?  (Yes, I am biased.  I definitely prefer fresh flowers, but for something like this, that doesn't really work.  So the key is finding silks that don't look all super fake!)

These pictures were actually shot at my house, not the house the arrangement was intended for.  I'll have to go see how it looks in its rightful home.
